Since I'm going into the pastry art world, I thought I should try my hand at a real cake. This I made for Katie's 18th birthday. She is a theater person, hence the design. I had a very limited amount of time to work on it, less than 3 weeknights, and there are many little things I would fix given the chance.

Made from white cake, strawberry filling, fondant, and royal icing roses.

*edit* I fixed the photo as best I could, looks much less blueish now.

Ha ha, it was indeed devoured. Half was gone by the time I left and Katie alleged that her father single-handedly ate the other half the next day XD

School is going...it can be a lot of fun but I'm there on Tuesdays from 8am to 10pm so it gets a little tiring. At least it's only one day a week. How is it for you?

This is a cake?!?! I thought is was a fine art sculpture until I read the description! Wow, you should really advertise your cake art more so you can make more and upload new pictures! This and graphite is your strong point and I can't wait to see more!

Yep, cake! It's not my favorite of medium to work with, but I definitely plan on doing more. Cake art makes people so happy, in a way that I don't see with other types of art.

Advertising it online would be difficult, I have no idea how I would ship something like that across the country :D Right now my market is limited to Indiana, ha ha. I wish it wasn't so expensive, or I would do more for fun.
